Christmas holidays and random fun

Had a great christmas this year as well, celebrated it with my roommates family so basically it was a big family gathering with lots of dogs and cats(which I love). We had so much fun and thankfully everyone was satisfied with what I had bought, both the presents and the alcohol.
No snow this year but we definitely had the christmas spirit non the less.
The day after I celebrate with my grandpa and had a great time, and he also told me that if I wan't a new phone when I move he'll get me one *__* He's just afraid my old one will break down so he won't be able to contact me, ahww that's so cute! But I'm also kinda scared my phone won't last all that long, more often than not they have broken down after three years... So chances are pretty big I'll take him on his offer. But at the same time I guess it's convenient to have a japanese cellphone but what the hell, iPhone 4s vs some cheap japanese phone(if I do buy one it will be cheap), not a hard choice really. Sadly I practically have my life in that damn phone so it's kinda important to me.

Well anyhow 2011 is soon over, seriously what happened to this year it passed by quicker than usual! And I won't celebrate new-year with drinking myself to oblivion, no I will celebrate it at home with a couple of my best friends just taking it easy while having a lot of fun at the same time. See I sound like total grown up now(which is just how it should be considering how old I am ehum). I don't think I will make any new-year-promises, I have enough motivation to do things anyway.

And on the 6th of jan me and some friends are taking on Helsinki yet again, ohh it's gonna be a ride for sure seeing it's me and a bunch of equally crazy people. And since it's two nights on the boat this time I guess we just have to party extra hard to keep ourselves from dying from boredom, but I have a feeling that won't be a problem.

Finally! :D

So it has finally happened, I've taken all the points I should need for my CSN-loan, so now I just need to wait for them to approve my application, but that shouldn't be any problem. After all this work it finally paid of, I passed that japanese history-exam!
So now it's just a couple of things left in music class and then I'm done for this year!

And in a couple of weeks me and some friends are going on a cruise to Helsinki, that will be awesome.
New Year I will spend with two of my closest friends, no hard drinking just having a good time together.
But omg it's just three months left before I move now, seriously I wonder when the 'what the heck am I doing!?'-thinking will kick in, it will surely come! I'm so happy I'll be in Tokyo at the same time as a lot of my friends who are also studying there.

Right at the moment though I really wish christmas was over, ahh the stress! But of course I'm looking forward to it as well, especially since I'm celebrating it with such wonderful people^^

Well maybe once this semester is over I'll actually get back to updating this blog more frequently, at least I'll try!

Almost there!

Wow an update! Not sure if that says much though since I basically have no life as you all know by now. BUT I manage to sneak in rare moments of real fun every now and then, celebrated my birthday like a month ago and it was great, first I celebrated it with two of my best friends with a girls night out and then a bigger random night out at a super cheap pub, oh the pictures taken on that night.... Then last weekend I went on a really quick cruise to Åbo(Turku whatever FINLAND) I seriously miss hanging out in Helsinki, I have so many great memories from that city haha.
Also went to see swedish industrial metal band Pain a week ago, they we're awesome as usual.

But yeah, apart from that it's just studies, studies and some more studies. But it's starting to pay off as I have almost all I need for my CSN-loan, just one more exam or two essays and I should be done! Keeping all my fingers crossed I pass my exam on friday, ghu japanese history and all it's 45724752 names and happenings... Please keep your fingers crossed for me too ><

And time just flies, it's just four months before I move! It will be April in no time at all seeing how you don't really pay any mind to time when you're absorbed in studies. I'll just take a shorter class for spring, basically it's japanese social studies, I couldn't finnish that class last time because of work but now I have time and it will be so much fun.

And dammit can Super Junior come out with the concert dates for Europe soon so I can start planning? If they come after I go to Japan I'm gonna go to Korea and kill them slowly... Hahaha no of course I wont, I've come to like them way too much :P

Worst month of the year award

Wow I'm actually having time to update my blog?? Seriously these mid term exams are killing me, october is just like...no. It will be such a breather when this month is over. But I have some things too look forward to at least, the birthday of one of my best friends is tomorrow, so we'll go out and celebrate, and then I'll celebrate my birthday twice, good times.
I've also had my fare bit of problems with all swedish students beloved friend CSN, whom was complaining about lacking info about my current studies even though all info is up on my university's webpage, so I had to get study certificates from my institutions that I had to snailmail CSN, seriously if they complain about anything else now I'm seriously gonna go to their office and strangle them slowly.

And I have my korean class on saturday, I have a strong feeling I will not feel well....
But why are there suddenly so many people who are 'pushing' me on. Facebook, that must be the most stupid function ever, just write me a message for gods sake.

As I said before I went to the doctor and just as I had expected my blood levels were beyond bad so now I'm literally overdosing on iron-pills to rise the levels of iron in my body, no wonder I've been so out of it lately, now hopefully I'll get more energy!

And it's gotten so dark and cold lately, I really start to look forward to christmas now haha.

This is SICK

Yeez I'm starting to feel like an invalid, been sick for over two weeks and it's starting to tier out my body .___. Went to the doctor a couple of days to check if maybe my iron-levels are down, in a strange way I kinda hope they are 'cause then I just need to take medicine and then I'll have more energy again. And I'm so glad I have two free days this coming week so I can stay home and recharge my batteries, I need that! Sitting in class for three hours with fever and a running nose isn't the most pleasant thing I have done...
And yesterday me and some of my friends got together to watch the first episode of the new season of Supernatural, it was such a nice evening spent with good friends!
Also a few days ago my language school sent me my study reassurance paper, so now I can send in my loan application.
I'm also gonna try to go to some korean lesson-get-to-gether's to try and learn some korean before my language school starts, since there are so many koreans there, actually there's even more chinese but I'm NOT learning chinese.
And now it's definitively autmn, it's cold and it's starting to just get darker and darker, in a way it's nice I guess...
Me and Stefan also started watching this anime, Steins;Gate, and it's really good! A bit confusing but damn funny, definitely gonna keep on watching it.
And now I'm off to yet another birthday celebration, i's good to have many friends haha.

Music kills(private life)

Oh dear, when I signed up for music theory I had no idea what I had gotten myself into, damn that class is hard! But at least I'm not the only one who sits there and is feeling stupid from time to time, and I DO learn, it just takes much more time for me since I knew nothing about the things we study from before. Soon we have a break from music theory for two weeks, that's nice, then I'll acually have time to go through all the things we've learned so far.
But all my other classes are OK (my classmates are a pretty wonderful bunch), and japanese history is so interesting, yeah I love history.. But I really do feel I won't have a private life until this semester is over, which is both a good and bad thing I guess. I would like to have time to be more active in JaME and Raison d'être, but as of now I'm buried under a ton of books that needs to be read... On the good side time will pass so fast that I'll be leaving for Tokyo in no time! I even bought a super cheap flight ticket before, I just hope the flight date and the date of my visa will work out, and since I won't get my visa in many months it's not much to think about, I'll just handle things as they come. But I will send in my application for study loans soon.
And wow only a month till my birthday, time sure flies.

I also think autumn is approaching, it has definitely gotten colder lately, but I'm actually starting to look forward to it, change is nice. And I probably won't celebrate christmas at home next year, and maybe not the year after that, so I'll enjoy this years' twice as much.

Back in action

Wow, over a month since the last update. Well in the meantime I've got my arm fixed and more or less healed except for the scar, gotten accepted at Yoshida language institute, got myself a good grade on my fashion essay, learnt lots and lots of kanji and I also went camping. So yeah my summer has been far from boring even though the operation on my arm prevented me from swimming in the ocean, which would have been very nice since the weather has been so hot.

The camping was really nice, me and Tom went to Skokloster in Uppsala with this HUGE tent, it takes six persons and we were only two.. The weather was perfect and we enjoyed to days of nature and fresh air, wine, beer and very improvised food. But god I will never sleep in a car again, it was the by far the most uncomfortable thing I have ever done. And when we tore the tent down we discovered the inner tents were covered in spiders, yuck, Tom got all the glory as he took down the tent singled handedly. I also think we traumatized the two german girls we got as neighbors, the grass outside our tent was covered in bottles and we were playing either very weird music or metal on high volume in the car, we're cute like that.

And now I've fixed almost all literature for my music science class! I really hope they don't take for given that you're familiar with music theory cause there's a test on the first day, but hopefully if you're a beginner you get extra help, otherwise I will complain.. And it's only a week till school starts, this summer disappeared just as fast as all other summers.

And now that I've been accepted at my language school I still have to wrap my mind around the fact that I'm actually moving to Tokyo in mars next year. I'll study so hard this semester that I'll get the points I need for my loans, my motivation has never been higher!

Now maybe I'll come around to update this blog more often, and this one seems to be way more popular then the music blog, my life's really interesting isn't it haha.

small hiatus

Just making a short statement, this little blog might be somewhat dead for a while, as most of you probably have seen I have started a sister blog, 東京beat, and that is where most of my focus will be from now on, and I also just had surgery on my arm so it's not easy to write anything at the moment haha. I'm not going to abandon this blog or anything, it's just going to run much slower than it used to.
And heck I didn't get my first choice of class at university, but, I'm going to spend the rest of year only focusing on music since that's what I'll study at university this fall, I think it will be pretty awesome. And I've sent in my language school application now, yay me! Now I really have some things to look forward too.

School and music ramblings

Time flies when you're busy and I've already finished my summer class at university, I sent in my essay today and now I can only hope my teachers will find just as fun as I did when I wrote it. I mean how can people not find hosts, visualkei and fashion as an interesting mix lol.
Anyhow since I at the moment have nothing better to do I'm gonna start practicing kanji like crazy, I've bought a book and everything.
I haven't sent in my application for the language school yet, I thought I might wait until I got my results from my summer class, since it's so important for me to get my points, but I think that will take a while so I'll probably send it soon anyway.
And soon I'll know if I got accepted into the business class I applied for this autumn, mm I really hope so since all my classes will be internet based, me like!

But seriously what has happened to my beloved visualkei, I find myself barely not listening to it anymore, so extremely few bands have released something good recently, feels kinda bad when I definitely listen more to k-pop nowadays. And god I'm gonna miss D'espairsRay, still really can't grasp that they've disbanded. It was the vk band I "grew up" with dammit. But at least I got to see them twice on their last tour, and hopefully the session band with Taka can become something serious in the future, but right now I only hope for Hizumis recovery, poor guy.
I'm also kinda disappointed with Dir en greys latest singel, can't Kyo just sing and not growl the song to bits, at least it gets a little better if you watch the crazy pv...
And I really want to see Nega on their EU tour, but it's only three dates, and I'm NOT going to Paris again, so sadly I don't think I can go.
Recently I almost think Matenrou opera has become one of my absolute favorite bands, a lot of their songs sound a bit familiar, but at least it still sound damn good! Their latest song gave me serious goose bumps of awesome.
Lycaon's mini-album was OK I guess, but I really wish they could go back to sound more like they did before, their overly sexual antics aren't that fun anymore.
But I do really look forward to D=out's and Nega's new singles! They almost always succeed in making me happy in one way or another.

Now I'm gonna stop complaining about music and watch Baker king.

SM TOWN in Paris

OK, so maybe I'm not the biggest k-pop fan out there, but this event I had really been looking forward to! And it sure as hell didn't disappoint!
The whole glorious trip to Paris started in the middle of the night with me haven't slept at all, so I slept all the way, first on the bus to Skavsta airport, then on the flight, and then on the bus to Paris. Anyhow, when we had finally gotten to Paris we had to go through hell before we finally managed to find the concert hall, the streets and people of Paris was just sooo nice, except not. But we still managed to spend some rather fun filled hours at the park in which the concert hall was located.
Then we had to wrap our minds around the queuing system, which was a mess, so after a while we just followed everybody else and it payed of as we got in as some of the first when the hall opened. The staff were kind enough to show us to our seats, but then they wanted tip, apparently that's the only pay they get, pore guys...
As we had gotten our seats we found out they were absolutely perfect, probably the best seats unless you were VIP or standing. We shared the row with some of the press so we ended up having cameras in our faces quite a few times during the show haha.
Well what about the show then, it was fabulous, 100% entertainment from start to finish. Forget boring love ballads, this was one huge party from start to finnish, and I got to hear all my favorite songs from all the bands. The one thing that I will never forget was the beautiful cosplay of Lady Gaga and Beyonce, performed by my beloved Super Junior, I was laughing so hard I had tears in my eyes, god it was so fug but still so perfect... Taemin also showed up in the middle of the crowd just a few meters from me, first I didn't even realize it was him, fail on me.
The show went on for over four hours, so my throat was totally damaged after too much screaming and cheering. I don't know the last time I felt so happy after a gig, definitely the most entertaining concert I have been to! If I have the chance to attend again I sure as hell will.
Stefan and I had planned on hitting a bar or something during the night because we didn't have any place to sleep, it was just that everything closed around 1-2am, so I ended up dead tired and crying out of frustration and mumbled something about dying in a park, I don't think Stefan liked that idea though so he pulled me around some more before we ended up in a parking garage, were I fell asleep on the floor opposite two bums, we also had regular visits by a junkie, good times, good times. I don' think I have ever been as happy as I was when the bus to the airport arrived the following morning, I was a bit afraid that Stefan had died on the bus or something, god I tried to shake him awake for at least a minute, poor guy hadn't slept at all during the night since he had to keep an on me while I was sleeping.. Because of being extremely tired we ended up in the wrong terminal, thankfully we noticed in time and moved to the other one, ohh I totally love small airports. And of course the flight was delayed.. But some hours later we found ourselves at Centralen, and it was straight to home and straight to bed, sleep had never felt better!
So all in all, k-pop definitely has it's bright sides, like overly sexual boys and some illegally catchy music, so even though the trip as a whole wasn't the very best, the concert more then enough made up for all the fail.

General boredom creates blogging

So, it's been a while since I last updated, mostly because nothing interesting has really happened, I'm just generally busy with this and that so time has managed to move quick enough.
But I've started my summer class at university, Japanese fashion and visual styles, it's so much fun! It's been a long while since I've felt this motivated to study, part of it is because it's about something that is one of my biggest interest and second, it's bringing me one step closer to my language school, since I still miss some points before I'm granted money from **** CSN... Which means I must have these points before I can pay for the language school. But it should all be ready by the end of this year! And I'll probably send the application for my school in Tokyo next week, so yeah I'm a bit worked up to say the least haha.

The weather has also been really nice so it shouldn't be long before the water is warm enough for a swim, a lot of people enjoy the beach-life already but for me it has to be warmer than this... And the swedish summer-weather is as crazy as usual, it switches between cold and really hot and in one instant it's all sunny and the next moment the rain is pouring down, gotta love it, or not. But it's hardly getting dark anymore, that I love about our summer!

Next saturday is SM TOWN in Paris, that will be so much fun, I still can't believe I'm actually going! And that I managed to drag Stefan with me haha, he's just too nice to say no ;) Can't wait to see all crazy fans.
And recently for no reason I've really wanted to get an Ameblo account, but I think I will wait until I actually come to Japan.

Home is where the heart is

So, after a little more than two months I'm finally back in good ol' Sweden. The ground is not shaking and finally it seems like summer is approaching. (It just had to take two snow storms just after I had got home..)
Coming back did actually feel a bit awkward, so much had happened in Japan and it felt like I should've stayed longer, buuut you know that boring little thing called reality popped up and yeah of course I couldn't stay there forever. What bothered me the most was probably that I had gotten close to some people in Tokyo, and I'm missing them really bad, well that's why I choose the cheesy headline, of course I live here in Sweden, it's where I have my family, friends, school and life, but I'm starting to have those things in Japan as well, so I wouldn't call either of them " my real home", but instead places that are an important part of my life, since well obviously I would like to live at both places at the same time even though that is quite impossible.
It feels really good to be home, but I still have that nagging feeling that something is missing, I hope it will pass but I have a feeling it might not...

But anyway, school starts in about a month, so I will study japanese fashion through out history, I'm really looking forward to it! And the rest of summer will probably be working at conventions and spending time with friends. We're planning on taking the boat out to some random island and camp, sounds like fun indeed. I'm just glad I manage to keep myself busy, it helps my thoughts from getting astray I guess.
I've also managed to get an conciliation appointment with my doctor concerning the metal plate in my arm, it really needs to go and I just want to get on with the surgery as soon as possible.
And I have two fun weekends ahead, on saturday it's Amon Amarths concert with the guys, hell yeah swedish viking metal! And the saturday after that me and Tom are going to Helsinki for D's concert, I just know that will be one crazy trip...

Right now taking one day at a time is a really good pace, and the show must go on!

Until we meet again Tokyo! The last days of awesomeness

And so it's finally here, the last day in Tokyo before I'm heading back to Sweden. Since last time I updated Beata and I have celebrated our namnsdag the best way possible, fika, a long walk in the nice weather, a good movie (Gantz - perfect answer, seriously see it, it's a pretty awesome movie) and a round of at an izakaya, and while we were there we also got the chance to feel the ground shake again..
And this thursday we went to W-inds concert in Nippon budokan. It wasn't planned at all, but Beata found out she would write a review for it and since I found out their music is kinda catchy I decided to tag along. We had a wonderful walk in the warm and sunny weather on our way to the arena, and I have totally fallen in love with Kagurazaki. When we arrived the place was packed with people everywhere, not so strange since 14000 people was to hang around, quite the sight. After some much needed coffee we went to find our entrances, mine wasn't too hard to find and it wasn't long before I was seated at a just perfect spot inside the arena. I'm still a bit bitter though, when I went too see the Gazette last time I was here I ended up at the far back and there weren't even any big screens, this time, with a band I don't really care much fore I get a perfect seat on the first floor really close to the stage, I didn't even need to look at the screens to get a good view of the members. Well guess I can be happy for my seat 'cause this concert was made of so much fun, even if not all their songs are my cup of tea there was still awesome breakdancing going on on the stage, and yeah the guys definitely knew how to entertain, and I think I've turned into a Ryohei fangirl, he's just so cute and an incredible skilled breakdancer! So after the gig I did not feel I had wasted my money.
The night after it was time for the final party night. We first went to our italian restaurant in Shibuya and after that we went to Shibuyas HUB, only to find it was really crowded, but we endured to drinks before we decided to hit Atom, it was just that when we arrived at Atom the place was about to close in an hour due to reconstruction work. We felt it wasn't worth paying the entrance fee so we took the train back to Shinjuku and went to our beloved HUBs in Kabukichou. The night had been uncharacteristically normal, usually things have at least started to get a little crazy, but then Beata nudges me and says there are two guys standing behind me that looks like they seem interested in talking, and I guess they were, 'cause we ended up spending the rest of the night with them at HUBs and then had a quite epic karaoke experience later on. But the poor guy I was sitting with, I got him totally drunk of his ass XD So yeah it was a totally awesome way to spend the last night of partying, but man was it hard to say good bye to Beata, I'm gonna miss her and a lot of other people so much!
So today I went to eat lunch with Noriyuki, and he ended up treating me, he's seriously cute^^ And now I'm waiting to head out on a date with the guy from last night, seriously doesn't people always date on their last day? :O

Time really flew this time, can't believe I've been here for two months already! This journy has with out doubt been the most awesome thing ever. I've experienced earthquakes, powerplants exploding, travelled around south Japan, had a crazy time in Seoul and many crazy nights of partying in Tokyo. I didn't get to go to many concerts but man everything else have been far more epic. It's like, wow can you really experience this much under just one travel? XD But seems like you can. So when I get home I will have so many fun things to think back on so I don't even know where to start.

Tokyo it have once again been a wonderful time, またね!

IKEA, random clubbing and SCREW-fangirling, one hell of a weekend!

So, more randomness since last time? Pretty much yeah... Aside from making friends out of random people I've made a visit to IKEA, had a random easter night and went to SCREW's awesome live.

Well the IKEA visit was epic win, seeing all swedish names in katakana, god it was hilarious, and we took the opportunity to buy some swedish food at the food market. And just imagine our surprise when we go to the restaurant and discover they have typical swedish easter food! We couldn't have been happier, and they also had semlor, so yeah it was perfect except they didn't have "snaps", but we bought 4,5% cider instead, only in Japan you can buy that strong alcohol at IKEA... After that we went back to my place to eat Ballerina and kanelbullar, only to discover that kanelbullarna wasn't baked, so we tried to use the "toaster oven", but the result wasn't that fantastic, either they got burned and looked like a lump of coal or they barely got baked at all -__- Later that night me and Sofia decided we would go clubbing after all, so after running from some creepy guys we ended up at Atom as usual, only this night they celebrated an anniversary and it was more packed than ever (the place is stuffed as it is usually), it was actually a bit annoying as you could hardly move. So we spent most of our time sitting for once. But then we decide to hit the dance floor one more time, and some sort of randomness hits, Sofia had seen some half fail western host looking guy and we kinda laughed at that, just so happen to be the failish guy has a seriously hot friend, and after that things just got kinda random, I'm pretty sure I have traumatized some poor soul after mistaking a normal apartment door for the exit door, I blame all on sleep depravity and some kind of stress of knowing I was hitting a concert just a few hours later and I had to get home to change and stuff -__- And then the rain starts to effing pour and I had forgot my umbrella at home, so I passed on actually borrowing one not knowing I had forgot it...
So after drying up for a bit and hastily getting some sort of nutritions into my system it's off to Shibuya for SCREW's tour final. I end up walking around the block for a bit since I'm one of the last persons to get in anyhow, so I ended up randomly shopping haha.
Well what can I say about the live, it was just so freaking awesome. They really rocked the hell out of it, lately they've been adding kind of an electro vibe to their sound and it worked perfect live, they also played all my favorite songs, even some older ones! The concert went on for almost 3h I believe O.o And all the members got so emotional it was impossible not to be touched yourself. It was also one of the few VK concerts I've been to in Japan where people have actually fainted during the live, but it WAS incredibly hot in O-East that night, I think the AC might've been broken or something, I was sweating like hell and I stood by myself at the back, I can only imagine how hot and stuffed it must have been in the middle of the crowd...
After the gig we we're told the concert would later be released as a live dvd, of course I will buy it, that was one of the best gigs I've been to, it will be a wonderful memory.
On my way home some guy randomly gets me under his umbrella, mine had died for good so I was walking around like a drenched cat... I'm forever thankful, even if I turned down the guy for a date, I just needed the damn umbrella to be honest XD

Today I completed two missions, returning my key to my old guest house and returning the tickets for the cancelled concerts. I also bought a ticket for W-inds concert on the 28th, I'm still a bit confused about myself haha. But I actually think it will be fun and I'll get to visit Nippon budokan, that's pretty awesome!
So a busy week lies ahead, I'm to meet up with a whole bunch of people to say goodbye for this time, maybe meet the guy from friday, going to see the new Gantz-movie with Beata, doing some final shopping and on friday it's good bye party till you drop, so I kind of booth do and don't look forward to it, bah final weeks are always so hard emotionally!

random nights for the epic win

Now I think it's time for some more epic adventures!
Friday was supposed to be a great day, then in the morning I find out it's not going to be great at all, practically everything sucked that morning. But after whining about this to Beata she thinks I should join her and Malla for a walk in the really nice weather. Really glad I did, we bought some alcohol, cookies and ice-cream and went to a pretty park. Kinda like a late hanami, it was great and I felt a lot better. Sofia and I had also decided we we're gonna hang out at Atom later that night and I asked Beata and Malla if they wanted to join so it was decided four girls we're gonna party that night.
Sofia was gonna meet up with us later so we decided to go eat in Shibuya before the clubbing and omg we had some epically funny discussions about starting a band.
Later I got responsible for finding Sofia since I'm the one who knows the best what she looks like, only that it's just too many asians everywhere lol, and I end up finding this guy instead, it was totally random and I find out he used to have a swedish girlfriend so he can speak a little swedish! We keep on talking for a while and we decide we're gonna hang out later, so yeah if you wanna find random friends just go hang around the Hachiko statue, it seem to work for everyone... But we find Sofia eventually and the four of us head to Atom. I had decided I was gonna have a pleasant evening that wouldn't turn out too crazy, but hey this is me, I should know by now that if I'm involved things have a tendancy to go a little wild^^; I think all was fine until Sofia and I decide to do a tequila bomb, after that rationality seemed a tad bit more boring, and when this vk'ish looking guy starts talking to me and he buys me some drinks I decide screw this bad morning this night is gonna be effing fantastic, and in one way I guess it kinda was, my god I don't know when I laughed this much, this night didn't win in any prizes for being serious that's for sure!
They day after me and Beata are heading for Kashiwa, only that booth of us are totally dead after arriving home sometime after the sun had came up, so we're like two zombies riding the train, but all gets well after some VERY needed coffee and cake at our italian café that is practically everywhere you go. After that we head to the live house for ダウト's concert and we're discussing the best place to stand to avoid getting things falling on your head in case an earthquake would hit, yeah I think we're a little damaged in our heads after all this...
Anyhow the gig was great, they played all my favorite songs except koi no bakansu, but I'n not surprised since it's actually a cover song. The guys were kinda freaked out about a potential earthquake but we in the crowd was like -_- calm down we're used to this... They also stated that even though they're going major they wont start making boring music but will carry on like they always have, that I approve of very much! So yeah the whole concert made a very happy Tess^^ After that we went to a restaurant for dinner, it was yummy indeed! On the train back home we were once again dead and spent most of the time "observing" the guy sitting opposite us and wondering why we can never find a japanese guy built like that, you know your judgement is seriously damaged when you start considering men a just a couple cm taller than you as tall... But then the object of observation got of the train and I had a very hard time keeping myself awake, and this coughing is seriously starting to kill me ><
But we got home eventually and I went straight to bed and slept 12h.
So next update after the next epic adventure, probably won't take too long, like after tomorrow? Meeting up with this random guy from Shibuya, just whished he would stop flirting with me, he already has a girlfriend ffs -__-

Borta bra men "hemma" bäst

Back on track

Wha, and so the blog lives again it seems, it just got a little interrupted by earthquakes and radiation.
Me and Beata have been out on our adventure in Kansai, it was a really memorable trip! We started with what should've been three days in Osaka, but since the trains didn't work because of the power cuts we had to take a night-bus and arrived early in the morning instead. We had a full day with inner town sightseeing and izakaya and the other day was spent in Nara and after that we went to the movies to see Gantz, which turned out to be really good! Then we took of to Iyô-hôjo, a really small town out on the countryside. Actually it was so small we got a little worried about how we could spend the time when there was nothing to do, but our awesome house manager saved us by giving us a ride to the much bigger town Matsuyama, and we got to play with his adorable dog Miyu-chan. In Matsuyama we visited the castle, ate matcha ice cream and went to the shopping district. It was a nice town, and the apartments there was just ridiculously cheap, but I really don't think I could live there, it's just to far away from all other big city's like Osaka and Tokyo. After this it was time for our two days bicycle adventure. It turned out to be the best thing I have ever done, you came so close to the nature and seeing all small country villages up close is memories that will last a lifetime, it was like seeing a totally different side of Japan which hasd so far been limited to the big city's for me. We spent our night at a really nice place on a beach, it even had an onsen, and god knows we needed that for our bodies hurt pretty bad after more than three miles on a bicycle. The next day we got up really early and managed to get to the end of our destination many hours earlier than planned, but it was only a good thing because when we were to change trains to Himeji we ended up on the wrong train and went 1 h in the wrong direction, so it was 2 hours lost to fail haha. But in the end we got to Himeji and could check in at our luxurious hotel, yeah it was nice to spend a couple of nights not sleeping on the floor, even though I have nothing against futons. The next day we went to see Himeji castle, which unfortunately was under restoration, so it was not the most exciting thing, but we ended up at the museum of history and that was both interesting and rather fun, we met this japanese woman whom worked there and we ended up having a long and rich discussion about this and that related to history and religion. Unfortunately the weather was pretty bad and it was moist and rained so I ended up buying an umbrella, which broke just a few days later, and then we went back to hotel to plan where to spend the rest of the evening. In the end we ended up at an izakaya which had absolutely delicious food! The final day was spent sitting on different trains, good I've never been so bored as I was when we sat on our final train, me sitting still on my ass for too long just isn't a big hit. But we passed through this black out area and it was really pitch black outside, it was booth a little scary and intriguing, it really makes you think about how much energy you waste on different things.
After that followed a few easy going days and we decided we're going to Korea! I just know that will be so much fun!
Yesterday, I can't even... I hardly know what happened, it was like that final night last time I visited but still so much not like it. It was just 100% crazy, jeez some guys.... But returning to Tokyo after Korea might be funnier than I thought (A). Well well, now maybe I can start writing on a regular basis again, even though I probably won't while I'm in Seoul...

Koreamat+metal=win

OK today I'm tired and lasy so this will be in swedish..

Lotus, トマス, Reivier, l.a.m. och aim lirade.

D rantings from a happy fangirl

OK, so since I work for JaME I probably should act more professional but what the hell, now I'm gonna fangirl rant my ass off about todays concert 'cause this is my BLOG!

The day started with me walking to Takadanobaba since it was really warm and sunny, so it was a pleasant walk indeed. There I met up with Beata and we went to eat curry, oh god I've missed it sooo much! Then we went straight to Akasaka Blitz because the concert started rather early. We discovered there were a whole lot of males at this gig, and quite a good looking bunch too, and we also discovered that apart from some of the taller guys Beata and I completely hovered over everybody else so despite us not having the best seats we still had a perfect view of the band.
And yeah, the concert was pretty awesome, it definitely satisfied my cravings for a gig you could rock out to. I saw these guys all the way back in 2008 when they were one of the opening acts for Versailles. Back then I already liked this band more than Versailles and that liking continued to grow. It's pretty fun when you've had a chance to see a little nobody band grow it self this big, 'cause todays gig was nothing like the gig three years ago. They've grown so much, both individually and as a band as whole. Sono's voice has surely improved, it sounded quite beautiful. And my little favorite member, Yuu, when I saw him back in Sweden he was so shy, he literally hid behind his drums when they were packing down their equipment, but today he OWNED that drum set! And yeah he dropped his drum stick during his solo, haha that was cute, I seriously like him even more now.
The concert was rather long so they played a lot of familiar songs, and one that neither me nor Beata recognizes, it could be a new song, who knows. Anyways I'm really glad this gig didn't get canceled 'cause obviously the band had been a victim for the flu so some concerts had been canceled during the tour. They even played X's Kurenai, stating that because they did that it made them metal, 'cause obviously otherwise you can't be booth VK and metal? That was some fail logic since X was like the starter of VK...
But anyhow, after the concert the most confusing thing happened. We were supposed to leave the hall, but as we were walked through the corridors we ended up in the hall again! And no one seemed to know why. The staged was being taken down so the band doing another encore was out of question. So after about 15min of confusion we find out the band are holding a hand shaking-session, we really hadn't expected that at all! This is the first time I have witnessed a band doing something like this after a concert in Japan. But it was fun meeting the guys and say thanks for a great concert. They seemed happy and under the concert they said they were sorry so many of their friends bands were breaking up lately but that Matenrou opera surely will NOT break up any time soon, that was really nice to hear. But I guess they hadn't seen foreigners for quite a while 'cause man were they looking, and Anzi must be the most serious hand shaker ever, seriously I was gonna move onto Yuu and he still held onto my hand when I started walking haha.

After this fine evening we went to my place to watch a movie, it was uhm special to say at least. But quite entertaining on some level. I love the guy who played the evil manager, he obviously always plays an evil manager haha. Then Beata helped me carry out some of the trash that has been piling up in my room since I moved in. Then that was the end of an quite wonderful day, I think next week will be kinda not so intense, we need to gather up power for the week after when Swedens finest will conquer Kansai!

A night to remember

So, yesterday I was gonna hang out with Beata and the day starts off wonderfully with that I overslept and had to run into the shower with the speed of Superman, but I wasn't the only one who had been tired that day so no harm done.
We started of with Beata showing me where Closet child is located, seriously if I don't remember it after this time I must suffer from brain damage.. Then we went to Freshness burger, were they played some remixed reggae, it was hard not to laugh while listening to it xD Our next mission was to find a sake-store, so we ran around half of Ikebukuro but still didn't find one, but we did find a random little shrine with loads of cats hanging around, so many fluffy cuties! And we ran into this really funny looking building which we figured out was a love hotel. After the fail of finding a sake-store we just went into a normal store and bought a little supply, then we headed back to my place and watched skiing and some fun show on a music chanel. When things started to get a little dull we decided it was time to move to HUB's.
And so we did and we discovered the hot bartender still works there, plus another really cute guy. Not long before we started to thinking about going home we meet three guys whith whom we'll spend the rest of the evening. And that definitely turned out to be the funniest night in Tokyo so far, can't remember the last time I laughed so much. Helan går added to the whole epicness, 'cause yeah you have to sing Helan går at an Izakaya in the middle of the night at least once in your life!
I got home at 7.30 am, and even though I've slept I'm still pretty dead, but I guess I must leave my bed in search for food later .__.

And yay tomorrow is Matenrou opera's final live, I'm so happy I'm going to see them again! :D Haven't done that since they played in Sweden with Versailles 2008, and then nobody knew who they were, that's kinda funny.

And next sunday we're gonna watch the St Patrick's parade at Omotesando, looking forward to that!

torsdag 3 mars 2011

Finally a sunny day!

Today was the first day to have nice weather since I arrived so I took the opportunity to walk around in Ikebukuro and see how well I could find my way around. It went pretty well I must say, at least I didn't get myself lost (that HAS happened before, ehem Kabukichou...) But, I didn't manage to find Closet Child, I don't know what is is about that store's location but I just can't remember where it's located, so guess I'll just look it up on a map, I usually remember it better that way. Yes I know I'm senile 'cause I was there two days ago -__- But at least I found brand X, could be a good thing since there's usually a lot of band activities there.

It was kinda warm outside but people still dress like people do back in Sweden where it's more than twice the cold, so yeah I got kinda looked at 'cause even though I dress warm I don't wear that much. But I'm more than used to people looking at me by now xD.

And I've noticed I've gotten into the habit of skipping on eating again, seriously as soon as I start to live on my own I barely feel the need to eat, well that keep things cheap at least.

But what I really was supposed to do today was to buy a hair dryer, and so I did, found a really cheap thing for 998yen, hopefully it works too haha.

Tomorrow night we're gonna hang out at HUB's in Kabukichou, haven't been there since my birthday! Hopefully that good looking bartender still works there :3

Sleep is the cure to everything

Well now I'm gonna try and write this travel blog in english since so many people appreciated my last one!

Arrived in Tokyo the day before yesterday and the whole trip had went smooth (just comparing it to last time makes it seem like a dream). The only thing that was bothering me was that my poor bag had gotten absolutely trashed during the fligt, it looked as if it had been run over :( So it was more or less hell to try and drag it to the hotel. But apparently one of the guys at Tateshina recognized me, that was quite fun I must say. Then I met up with Beata and the two of us went to the wonderful Italian restaurant in Shinjuku which serves spaghetti with caviar, crazy as it sounds it tastes yummy! And I got this really fun candy, Beata knows me too well apparently. And she got her swedish delicatessens, so know she can do her original swedish macka. And seriously I had almost forgotten how many hotties there're around Shinjuku xD

Well yesterday I was supposed to meet up with my house manager at Ikebukuro station, only that we didn't meet and I had to find the damn place myself, and it took pretty much forever, so I was not happy and I had barely slept anything at all so when I found the place I was completely dead. But the place seems OK and the residents I have met so far seems nice. But yeah, I still miss Gotanda, that place was a little special to me, I have so many fun memories from that house..
Any how, Beata and Malla came over later and we headed out in Ikebukuro. Now maybe I have learned to find my way around a liiittle better. And the okonomiyaki and izakaya was pure win, so cheap and so much fun! (Especially since one of the guys working at the izakaya was really hot ehem..)

Now I've slept for 12 h and that was pure heavenly. So now I need to get out of the bedroom, which I'm not too keen on since it's cold as hell on my floor since someone is opening the windows all the time, seriously it's cold outside so just keep them closed please :/

Off we go!

fredag 14 januari 2011

2011 so far
